Robert J. FRIEDMAN

Robert J. Friedman was formerly Director of the Genealogy Institute at the Center for Jewish History and currently performs genealogical research for individual clients. He has made numerous presentations at synagogues, Jewish community centers, and Jewish genealogical society meetings. Mr. Friedman holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science with a certificate in Archives and Records Management. He has conducted on-site genealogical research at archives, libraries, cemeteries and other facilities in several U.S. states, Hungary, and Romania, and corresponds with archives in both Western and Eastern Europe. Mr. Friedman participates in a variety of genealogical associations, including JGSNY, APG, NYB&G, H-SIG, ROM-SIG, Suwalk-Lomza SIG, and Gesher Galicia, among others. He also contributed to the IAJGS Cemetery Project and the JewishGen Yizkor Book Project, served on the Executive Council of JGSNY, and volunteered at YIVO and the Museum of Jewish Heritage.
