Sallyann SACK

Sallyann Amdur Sack-Pikus, Ph.D., is chair of the board of the International Institute for Jewish Genealogy affiliated with the Israeli National Library in Jerusalem; president and co-owner (with Gary Mokotoff) of Avotaynu, Inc.; and editor of its journal, AVOTAYNU, the International Review of Jewish Genealogy. She was the founding president of the Jewish Genealogy Society of Greater Washington, serves as president of the non-profit Avotaynu Foundation, has chaired or co-chaired seven international Jewish genealogy conferences and has authored, co-authored or edited seven genealogy books (including the Avotaynu Guide to Jewish Genealogy and the prize-winning Where Once We Walked). Dr. Sack has served on several advisory boards, taught genealogy classes and has spoken on Jewish genealogy to Jewish genealogy societies, conferences and the general community. A recipient of the IAJGS Lifetime Achievement Award, she resides in Bethesda, Maryland, where she is a clinical psychologist in private practice.
