Why are historic family photos so precious to us?
They elicit memories, connect us to our past and can sometimes tell us something about our ancestors.
“Just a Jewish Girl: A Pictorial Family Album of Pre-World War II Antwerp, Belgium”
Jan Burns has recently published a book in which she collaborated with Henny Moëd Roth telling Henny’s family story of life in Antwerp, Belgium, and subsequent escape from Europe in the summer of 1940. Jan has utilized old family photographs and stories written by Henny Moëd Roth to pass on to the next generation her legacy. In her lecture, Jan will share with a PowerPoint presentation some of Henny’s “escape from Europe” story, how to create a photographic family history and how this particular project came to be.
Books will be available for purchase.
